Investigator Job Portal Privacy Policy
Revised on September 28, 2026
Investigator Job Portal LLC (“IJP,” “we,” “us”) operates investigatorjobsportal.com. This Policy explains how we handle personal information across our employment job board and our password-protected business-to-business subcontract portal. Part I applies to the employment job board. Part II applies to the restricted subcontract portal. Part III explains practices shared by both services.
Part I — Employment Job Board
Job Seekers and Applications
Job seekers may create accounts, provide work history and qualifications, upload résumés, apply for openings, exchange platform messages, and request job alerts. We use that information to operate these features and maintain records of applications and communications.
If the posting employer has an IJP account, the employer receives a notification and opens the application and résumé inside IJP. If an IJP administrator posts an opening for an employer without an account, we email that employer the application and résumé.
An application is shared with the posting employer through the applicable route even if the résumé is not in the searchable database.
Searchable Résumé Database
During job seeker signup, we ask the person to check a box agreeing to inclusion of their résumé in the searchable database. Checking “Yes” is required to create a job seeker account; a person who does not check it cannot complete signup.
Approved employer accounts can search résumés in that database for recruiting purposes.
After creating an account, a job seeker can withdraw the résumé from the database through the dashboard. Once withdrawal is processed, it will no longer appear in future database searches. Withdrawal does not remove an application already sent to an employer or recall information an employer previously viewed or saved.
We keep a record of the signup choice and any later withdrawal. Employers that receive candidate information are responsible for their own recruiting use, security, retention, and legal obligations. We may review résumé search access logs and investigate reported misuse, but cannot control an employer’s independent copies after lawful access.
Employment Advertisements and Marketing
An employer’s employment advertisement may be displayed on the job board. IJP may use details from an active opening, including the role, employer name if displayed, location, and application link, to promote that opening through IJP social media and other marketing channels.
We do not use candidate résumés, applications, private messages, or confidential subcontract assignments for that promotion.
A social media post may remain visible after the opening closes until removed, and third parties may retain shared copies.
Job Alerts and Messaging
We use job preferences and contact details to deliver requested alerts. Users can change or stop optional alerts through dashboard controls.
Job board messages are available to the users participating in the conversation. IJP administrators cannot access the content of those messages through the job board administration interface. We process the information needed to deliver messages and operate the feature.
Part II — Restricted Subcontract Portal
Access and Account Verification
The subcontract portal is password protected and intended for approved businesses that use private investigators, including PI agencies, attorneys, insurance companies, and other eligible organizations, together with participating investigators.
We collect business identity, authorized-user, contact, licensing, qualification, and account information to review access and operate this portal.
We may check submitted license information against available records. A verification reflects information available when checked and is not a continuing guarantee of license status.
Assignments and Confidential Material
Users can upload assignment details, proposals, messages, documents, photographs, video, and other case materials through the restricted portal.
We process submitted content to make it available to authorized participants, operate the assignment workflow, provide support, secure the service, and resolve disputes.
Authorized IJP administrators may access messages and other information uploaded to the subcontract portal, principally when:
- A dispute or complaint requires review;
- A participant asks for help or authorizes access; or
- Access is reasonably necessary for legal compliance or a security investigation.
This material is not part of the public job board or searchable résumé database.
Users control what case information they submit and must have authority to share it. We do not publish confidential case material for marketing without separate authorization.
Payments and Identity Checks
Where the subcontract portal uses Stripe Connect or identity verification, relevant account, transaction, business, identity, and payment-related information may be sent to or received from Stripe to onboard users, verify identity, process payments and payouts, prevent fraud, and comply with legal requirements.
Stripe processes payment credentials and verification materials under its own applicable privacy terms. IJP may receive limited status, identifiers, and transaction details needed to operate the portal.
We do not need to receive a complete payment card number merely to process a Stripe payment.
Part III — Practices Shared by Both Services
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you visit, register, post, apply, communicate, seek support, or use a transaction feature.
Depending on your role, this can include:
- Your name;
- Business and contact details;
- Login credentials;
- Professional qualifications and license information;
- Profile and résumé;
- Job postings;
- Applications;
- Messages;
- Assignment information;
- Documents; and
- Transaction records.
Do not include sensitive information that is unnecessary for the feature you are using.
We also collect device and usage information such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages viewed, approximate location inferred from IP address, referring page, timestamps, and security logs.
Cookies and similar technologies may support login sessions, security, preferences, and basic analytics.
We may receive information from other users, public licensing sources, identity and payment providers, and service providers involved in operating the site.
Why We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide accounts and site features;
- Display posts to their intended audience;
- Deliver applications and messages;
- Send requested job alerts and service notices;
- Verify identity, business status, and professional credentials where applicable;
- Process transactions;
- Provide support;
- Detect misuse;
- Maintain and improve the site;
- Comply with law; and
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may use aggregated or deidentified information for analysis and improvement where it no longer reasonably identifies a person.
Communications
We may send account, application, assignment, security, payment, and support messages by email or other contact method you provide.
Job alerts are optional and can be changed or stopped through dashboard controls or instructions in the messages, as applicable. Authentication and essential service messages may still be sent.
If text alerts are offered, the signup flow should state their frequency and opt-out instructions.
We do not share text-message opt-in records with third parties for their own marketing.
Disclosure of Information
We disclose information to the following recipients as relevant to the service used:
- Job board employers that receive applications or search résumés under the signup consent, unless a job seeker later withdraws the résumé from search; and job seekers and employers participating in their own platform messages.
- Authorized participants in a restricted subcontract assignment, according to portal access and sharing choices.
- Service providers supporting hosting, storage, security, analytics, communications, identity verification, customer support, and payment processing, subject to appropriate contractual controls.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or handle claims.
- A successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information, including candidate résumés, applications, profile information, messages, or confidential case files, to third parties.
We also do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
Information is shared only as described in this Policy, such as with the employer or authorized participants involved in a user-requested transaction or assignment, with service providers that help operate the platform, or when required or permitted by law.
We do not currently use advertising trackers for targeted advertising. If that practice changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by law before using them.
Cookies and Tracking
Cookies and related tools may keep users signed in, remember preferences, measure use of the site, and protect accounts.
Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies, although some features may then stop working.
We do not currently use advertising trackers for targeted advertising. If we add them later, we will update this Policy and implement any legally required choices.
Retention, Security, and Location
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the relevant service and for legitimate business, security, tax, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes.
The period depends on the type of record and whether an account, application, assignment, payment, claim, or legal hold remains active.
A résumé withdrawn from search is removed from future platform searches after processing, but prior applications, authorized employer copies, backups, and legally required records may remain.
Users should preserve their own copies of material they need.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to its sensitivity and our operations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We address security incidents and required notices under applicable law.
Information may be stored or processed in the United States and other places where our providers operate. Where cross-border transfer rules apply, we use appropriate measures required by law.
Users who independently disclose information to recipients in another country are responsible for that decision.
Privacy Choices and Requests
You may update available profile and alert settings in your dashboard and withdraw a résumé from the searchable database there.
You can also contact info@investigatorjobsportal.com to request access, correction, deletion, or information about our use of your personal data.
We may need to verify your identity or authority. We will respond as applicable law requires and explain when an exception prevents us from fulfilling a request.
Deleting an IJP account or withdrawing a résumé cannot automatically delete copies already received by independent employers or other authorized users.
Residents of states with applicable privacy laws may have additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and, where relevant, choices concerning targeted advertising or certain profiling.
The scope of a right depends on the law and the information at issue. We will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.
If a law provides an appeal right, a request for review may be sent to the same email address. This section does not limit rights that applicable law provides.
Other Matters
Children
The services are intended for adults at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Other Sites and Services
Links to third-party sites and independent employer application or communication channels are governed by those parties’ practices.
Stripe and other providers may have separate privacy notices for information they collect directly. This Policy covers IJP’s own handling of information.
Changes
We may update this Policy as our services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
Material changes to how a résumé or confidential case material is used will not be applied retroactively without any notice or choice required by law.
